Development of a test procedure to evaluate the aging conditions of ice-repelling varnish

In order to ensure reliable de-icing according to a method used by Vestas, maintaining sufficient quality of the ice-repellent coating of the rotor blades under aging environmental conditions (hail, dust storms, UV, etc.) is essential. To verify this coating, an in-situ applicable test method should be developed. For this purpose, after reviewing relevant literature, a direct measurement method is tested in the laboratory and transferred to the field application.
